Margaret Williams, Owner/Broker
I was born in Royston, Ga. and at the age of four, my parents moved to the Slater/Marietta area of Greenville County. They both obtained jobs at the Slater cotton mill but wanted to have their own business. In 1949, they opened a Five and Dime store in Marietta. As a child, I loved meeting the people that came in the store, and even would try to help them just like the clerks that worked for my parents. The desire to serve others has followed me throughout life. As an adult, I have earned a living many different ways. I have been a hairdresser, worked for a bank, owned a Dairy Queen Franchise and worked at our church for fourteen years as office manager and bookkeeper. Now, finally, I have found what I really love and that is Real Estate sales. I believe all the other jobs prepared me for just this time in my life. All I want to do is help folks find the perfect place to call home or relieve the stress of selling a home. Nothing makes me happier than helping first time homeowners. Just to see the joy on their face when they close on their home is wonderful!

God has blessed me with many wonderful clients over the years and as a result I had the privilege of being Agent of the Month and Year multiple times.  He has also blessed me with my own Real Estate Company. My mission statement is to consider others more than myself and always be honest and conduct business in an ethical manner. As long as I can remember, the love of history has played a defining role in who I am today. From tracing family roots, to listening to my 108 year old uncle tell of life in "the good ol' days", I have always desired to seek a connectedness to those I am around while embracing the small town atmosphere.  I believe strongly in a sense of community and having a knowledge of cultural significance and traditions that have made a town unique. That’s why I love working in the Travelers Rest area.  As an Office Manager, I enjoy welcoming visitors that come in and ask about our beautiful Upstate.  While assisting the Agents in our cozy office that will make you feel right at home, I’ll be glad to pour you a cup of coffee as you share your story, dreams and desires with our Agents.

As a young child, I found great satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment in various forms of creative expression. By the age of 3, my family was convinced that I had a gift for memorizing and reciting stories. My mother referred to the memorization process as "learning it by heart." Until I knew a story by heart, I could not put expression into it, expression that came from the heart, that breathed life into the words and turned the telling into a performance - the art of storytelling. 

Today, the same gifts and graces that I realized as a child, come into play on a daily basis in my real estate business and in my personal life.
